Koh 4,9-11

Installation
2019

The title of the work, as well as the content burned on the lounger, refers to the relevant verses from Kohelet in the Bible, which are interpreted as „the benefits of living together”. The work has been exhibited so far in Bratislava and therefore the inscription is also burnt in Slovak. Eventually, the deckchair will have these words burned out in other languages as well (depending on where the work will be presented). The material used to cover the lounger and to mark the ground underneath it is a thermal rescue foil indicating the need to artificially maintain the values of the human body temperature. The lamp is of course also a part of the work – it is an old hospital lamp used for disinfection (currently for safety reasons already without this function).

„Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm alone?”
